TURING AN ELECTRICITY-INTENSIVE MANUFACTURER INTO AN ENERGY POWERHOUSE
RUBBER, PLASTICS MANUFACTURER IN FRESNO, CA
THE CHALLENGE
Manufacturing rubber and plastics products is an energy-intensive process. Doing so in the middle of a scorching desert in a facility with an old, black roof and the energy consumption goes, well, through the roof. The manufacturer was fighting Mother Nature, and losing the battle big time, when it came to energy costs and efficiency
THE PROCESS
- Installed 2” polyfoam commercial roof system over entire facility
- Designed and installed 240 KW solar electricity system
THE RESULT
The improved insulation from the cool roof, paired with the custom solar electricity system, brought the manufacturing facility from out-of-date to state-of-the art. In one fell swoop, the facility went from being a huge electricity user to completely eliminating its electricity costs.
“Our electricity costs have been eliminated which benefits our business, our customers and the environment. The Barrier team made the process painless, from design to completion”
