These brothers brought solar into the family, and kicked high electric bills out.

RESIDENCES IN CARUTHERS, CALIFORNIA

THE CHALLENGE

With rising energy costs and large country homes that consumed over 40,000 KwHrs of electricity each year, Joe and Fermin Campos decided the time was right for switching to solar power. The challenge was finding a company capable of designing and installing what would be two of the largest residential solar systems in the world.

THE PROCESS

The brothers called on Barrier, which determined that Joe would benefit most from a ground mounted solar system, and Fermin from a solar carport. Barrier set to work on both brothers’ projects, installing over 265 panels and eight inverters between the two systems. With each project being larger than many commercial solar installations, Barrier completed two of the largest residential systems in the history of solar power, each capable of producing over 45,000 KsHrs annually.

THE RESULT

Since the installations, the brothers’ electric bills have dropped to zero, and each produces more than enough energy to meet his home’s needs. Barrier took care of all the rebate and tax credit paperwork, enabling Fermin’s system to pay for itself in under five years, and Joe’s in less than four, with free energy to come for many years beyond. Thanks to Barrier, both rothers achieved true energy independence.

“When Barrier told me we could
integrate a state-of-the-art solar power system into a functional carport, I was skeptical. But the results speak for themselves: I now  have protection for even my tallest vehicles, with energy savings that exceed what Barrier predicted!”
