Switching to solar is fertile ground for energy savings.

FERTILIZER MANUFACTURER IN VISALIA, CALIFORNIA

THE CHALLENGE

Biagro Western Sales needed to make its fertilizer manufacturing operation more energy-efficient, while keeping its workplace cool and comfortable in the hot summers of California’s Central Valley.  A solar energy system seemed to be the best solution and the plant went the extra mile and installed a distilled water system.

THE PROCESS

Barrier designed a system using 304 Yingli rooftop solar panels, painstakingly installed so as not to interfere with the day to day operations of the highly volatile fertilizer manufacturing plant.

THE RESULT

The impact of Barrier’s solar system was immediate and impressive, dramatically reducing the plant’s monthly electric bill while providing ample power for its manufacturing operation and keeping workers cool during the hot summer months. Additionally, the facility’s reduced carbon footprint demonstrates the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
